The one thing you always hear from the richest clubs in the world is how they can virtually envision acquiring any player they damn well please. Take Real Madrid. After a pitiful outing in the Champions League, they’ve gone on to throw out every name in the book. Just in the last 24 hours, Real Madrid have been linked to Chelsea FC stiker Didier Drogba, which would obviously alleviate Madrid’s midfield defensive weakness. How likely is it that Drogba would even want to indulge in a team that has a surplus of strikers equivalent to Fort Knox’s gold stash?

Next on the list is none other than pretty boy Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s been rumored all day that Real Madrid prez Ramon Calderon is ready (or already has) to shell out close to $120 million for the winger. That’s a ton of money for a guy who won’t have the same versatility without players like Rio Nani, Wayne Rooney, and Ryan Giggs backing him up. It just doesn’t seem like Michel Salgado, could manufacture enthusiasm in the kid. And what about Robinho? Do you know how difficult it is for that guy to give up the ball? We’d have the soccer version of Kobe and Shaq next season is Ronaldo donned the whites of Madrid.
Then there’s Dani Aquino (striker) from Real Murcia and Osasuna midfielder Javi Garcia. Dani is great, but he’s of the Diego Milito caliber. Why would Real want to get rid of Roberto Soldado? And Javi Garcia is actually a great idea, but Real Madrid won’t pull the trigger because the guy can’t sell a jersey.
So who will it be tomorrow, Karim Benzema? Rock your Google searches early to find out.
