Wesley Snipes decided to hijack Uncle Sam’s mula for three years by not paying any taxes and now he’s headed to the [insert big guy butt-ramming joke here] slammer.
Snipes apologized while reading from a written statement for his “costly mistakes,” but never mentioned the word taxes.
“I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance,” Snipes said. He said his wealth and celebrity attracted “wolves and jackals like flies are attracted to meat.” He called himself “well-intentioned, but miseducated.”
We’re not displeased because, frankly, what was he thinking? And we’re not holding out breath for another “Major League” with him because we actually enjoyed Omar Epps in the sequel; though he wasn’t as cool as Wesley. If Wesley’s lucky, maybe he’ll find a way to reside in Michael Vick’s prison. And they can be friends. And play prison football together. And by prison football we mean “prison football.”
