We just got back from, um, a “cafe” where we were watching the Champions League finals game with around 200 Chelsea and Macnhester United fans. The atmosphere was volatile, with multiple cheering sections full of gleeful drunkards and guys speaking in a distant vernacular with belches in between. We understood every fucking word. It was uncanny. Anyway, Manchester United, if you hadn’t guessed from th headline, won. They stormed to the scoring first when Cristiano Ronaldo steered a precise header in the 26th minute to give Man United a 1-0 lead. Frank Lampard surfaced as Chelsea’s saving grace when he stormed through the box in the 45th minute and beat a stumbling goalie to equalize. Then we had to wait 75+ minutes, plus a penalty shootout, to salute the champions of this year’s Uefa Champions League Final. The goals after the jump.
