Screw the red carpets and Tom Cruise. David Beckham hasn’t been welcomed to America like Cuauhtemoc Blanco. Temoc, who plays for the Chicago Fire, has transcended his diva-ness to become somewhat of an icon in Chicago. He threw out the first pitch of a Chicago White Sox game in April (that we totally missed) and last week he threw out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game. OK. Victoria Beckham did throw out a first pitch at a Dodgers game, but she’s got boobs. And Temoc is virtually hated by all Americans because A) he’s Mexican and B) he plays soccer. A coupling like that is an unwarranted death sentence in this country. Not only that, he was invited to the booth to sing “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” with two fellow teammates. Um, he didn’t do much singing, but it’s still a better performance than that other Mexican dude who sang in Chicago. Video after the jump.

If that wasn’t enough, here is Temoc with his snazzy zapatos, throwing out the first pitch for the White Sox. Seriously, what was he thinking?
