Even though we’re merely twenty blocks away from the New York Times‘ building, we didn’t have a clue that at 11am this morning, Alain Robert (that’s Ro-Beaaar) climbed the exterior of the building in protest of global warming. We didn’t know because we’ve been reading endless articles about the Lakers/Celtics matchup tonight. Anyway, Robert scaled 52 stories, reached the rooftop and was promptly arrested by New York city cops.

“He was working his way up so we let him come to us,” said Lt. Tim Krumm, Emergency Services citywide supervisor. “We just told him to relax, and he said he was relaxed.”

Tomorrow, Godzilla is making his 12th appearance in the city this year and Superman is reportedly dating Donald Trump’s daughter. Only in New York City, man. Video report after the jump.
