Battle Of The Book Signers: Tito Ortiz V Oscar De La Hoya In Los Angeles.

Over the last few years, Mixed Martial Arts has been giving professional Boxing a run for it’s money when it comes to viewers and dollars. The sport that Ultimate Fighting Championship built has successfully infiltrated prime time television and veteran MMA fighters are now household names.

On the other hand, boxing has been continuously plagued by corruption and match-fixing allegations, a lack of role-models and, of course, the lack of a people’s champion (Oscar De La Hoya brings peeps together, but the guy has been belt less for some time). But maybe that will all be settled when Tito Ortiz and Oscar De La Hoya go head-to-head tonight in the most anticipated event since Mary Carey signed books at the Hustler store on Sunset Blvd: the two athletes will both be signing books tonight in Los Angeles.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion, Ortiz will be signing copies of his book, This is Gonna Hurt: The Life of a Mixed Martial Arts Champion tonight at the Virgin (insert Jenna Jameson joke here) Megastore in Hollywood at 7pm.
Meanwhile, exactly three miles away at Barnes & Noble in The Grove, 10-time world champion (and fishnet stocking model) De La Hoya will be signing copies of his new book, American Son: My Story, at 7:30pm.

Dude, don’t they know he’s a photoshopped fishnet stocking model? Anyway, the turnout for both may be equal considering Jenna Jameson may be there for Ortiz. But that means all the pervs just guys for Tito Ortiz. Oscar, on the other hand, will get all the East LA girls that still adore that stupid grin. That’s a one up in our book for Oscar.
