George Carlin Is Totally Dead
23 June 2008, 12:45 PM. By Alejandro de la Cruz
Raunchified comedian and savvy linguist George Carlin is dead. He passed away yesterday in Santa Monica, California due to heart failure. Known for his “Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television” routine, Carlin was an adamant opponent of censorship and believed every comedian should make an effort to cross society’s rigid lines.
A ton of sports blogs have been posting this video because Carlin talks about the major differences between football and baseball. Basically, football is for soldiers and baseball is a sport for suburbanites. Brilliant. It’s always a sad day when a great comedian dies. Because it’s their wit and insight that propels us to laugh at ourselves, making life that much more bearable. R.I.P., man.
