Usually a drubbing of monumental proportions in a soccer game consists of a five or more goal disparity between teams. At least that’s what we determine as an ass-whooping. But what about 54-1? Not only is that score hard to believe, but German soccer officials are investigating whether German squad DJK Lowen, as we say in the good ol’ states, threw the game. Since most of the world has a guilty until proven innocent protocol, officials have done the unthinkable and banned the entire second divison German squad.
Football authorities have banned a whole team after they lost 54-1 in a promotion derby.
All 11 players in Germany’s DJK Lowen II’s first team have been suspended for a year after being accused of deliberately letting rivals Rheinkassell-Langel II win to gain promotion.
Allowing rivals to win? Unfortunately there isn’t much more out there on this story so a big fat “WTF!” is all w got. At least DJK Lowen tried to maintain dignity by scoring that one goal. And the girl on this post? It’s way better than a picture of the team’s logo, isn’t it?
