When Martin Jol was relieved of his duties as the Tottenham Spurs coach, with him went the “playing not to lose” mentality that plagued his tenure. The new Juande Ramos regime came in mid-season, and while not perfect, his attacking style did bring a League Cup to White Hart Lane. Now, with Dimitar Berbatov seemingly on the outs–as well as Aaron Lennon–Ramos may have picked up the perfect striker to bring him a top-four EPL finish in Mexican superstar-in-the-making Giovani Dos Santos, who played for Barcelona last year. The 19-year-old is thrilled with the move… possibly because they threw in a Wii in the deal, but we’re not sure.

“I love Tottenham’s plans, they are very ambitious,” Dos Santos told The Sun. “I know Juande Ramos and of all the offers I had, this was the most challenging from a sporting point of view.

“Yes, I believe that he will excel and become a greater player than what he is now,” said [Juande] Ramos. “He has plenty to look forward to and for us he is a brilliant signing as he has great qualities and he can adapt to play in many positions… He will definitely enrich this side as he offers something different especially when playing attacking football.”

Well no shit. He’s wasn’t brought in to just stare at the other team with his finger in his nose while they score. That was Paul Robinson’s job.
