Honda Could Mass Produce Hydrogen-Powered Car In 10 Years

While not as “huh? cool!” as that water-powered car from a few days ago, you’ve got to admit that hydrogen-powered cars are right up there. The problem is mass production. How do car manufacturers do it, and how do they do it in such a way as to turn a healthy profit?
Well, it looks like Honda may give it a shot. In 10 years, that is.


Yes, the Japanese auto giant said today that it could well begin mass production of the hydrogen-powered FCX Clarity if costs are cut by a “certain amount.” That’s about as vague as the day is long, but it’s encouraging words for all you environmental divas out there. We only pretend to care about the environment because it looks good.
Those of you who live in California will be able to lease the FCX Clarity starting next month for $600 per month. Hey, pay a little more now, but save money in the long run given the price of oil.
