“Kimbo” Slices MMA’s Reputation, James “Colossus” Thompson’s Puss-Filled Ear

Kimbo Slice entered the ring at EliteXC on Saturday night with a marketable reputation as a street brawler and having the regeneration powers of “Wolverine.” He’s still a brawler, and he still doesn’t bleed, but the guy’s not a “Mixed” Martial Arts fighter. (Looks over shoulder to make sure Kimbo isn’t here.) We’re actually fascinated by Kimbo’s regular bully/boxer appeal, but Saturday’s main event introduced a novice ring fighter that had no ground game, suffered from exhaustion and only won because someone forgot to drain James “Colossus” Thompson’s ear. Round 2 from Saturday’s fight is after the jump and as you’ll see, Kimbo has a long way to go before he can even face someone like Gabriel Gonzaga.

He kind of looked like Mike Tyson after the historic round against Buster Douglas.
