Memphis Grizzlies’ owner Michael Heisley just realized he might have traded Pau Gasol for cracker jacks and and four blow up dolls. The truth is, he did. And now that Gasol is running picks and knockin’ down 18-footers in the finals, Heisley is wondering if his GM blew it by trading Gasol so early in February. Basically, the guy went after the first girl that hit on him; he bought the first used car he saw; he bet on the first horse that dropped dung on the racetrack. What? Exactly. To Heisley, the trade just doesn’t make any sense anymore.

“I don’t know if I got the most value,” Heisley confessed. “Maybe our people should’ve shopped (Gasol) more and maybe we would’ve gotten more, done a better deal. Maybe Chris did call every team in the league. I don’t think he did, but maybe he should’ve…”

Maybe Memphis should’ve won more games, or established a prime market for a player as big as Gasol, or…won more games. Actually, there was probably a better market share somewhere in the NBA because whenever the name Kwame Brown is involved, you know the deal is sour on the receiving end from the get-go.
