Trying to look as diesel as Cristiano Ronaldo may just have gotten easier. 24 Hour Fitness, the company behind Gold’s Gym in the U.S., has just said it will outfit some of its gyms with the new Nike+iPod system. The system integrates the features of Nike+iPod, like mileage tracking and calories burned counter, into certain gym equipment. That way, all you’d have to do is plug your iPod nano into, say, a treadmill and all your vitals will be recorded. Very handy.

Now, not every 24 Hour Fitness-owned gym can expect to see the special equipment immediately (the program begins in July), but those of you in New York, San Fran, Miami, Denver, Portland and Salt Lake City (really, SLC?) may just find your neighborhood gym decked out with the new equipment.
All your workout data is sent to a Nike Web site when you connect your iPod to your computer, making keeping track of your progress.
And if Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) can lose some weight, then there’s hope for us all.
