When head honcho Alejandro went over to Mexico City, they told him the high altitude would make him sleepy and short of breath. But some tacos and a Negra Modelo put him right. Unfortunately, we don’t think that’s the right cure for Olympic speedwalkers competing in Beijing this summer, who along with the heat, have to battle the city’s high altitude. That’s why Mexican and Bolivian speedwalkers are heading to the Andean country to train 17,000 miles above sea level. The video after the jump contains examples of their methods that includes climbing the sides of snow covered mountains and wiggling down the road, much to many a Bolivian driver’s delight, we’re sure.
