What better way to celebrate your incapacity to partake in the most prestigious continental tournament in Europe than by visiting an African village and achieving chiefdom. Since Rio Ferdinand can’t captain a mediocre team, he’s managed to convince a Nigerian king to entrust him with checking the resumes of top qualified witchdoctors.

Manchester United’s acting captain has become Chief Fiwagboola after being given the title by King Akiolu in Nigeria.
King Akiolu — who wore an old United shirt with his name on the back and a club scarf — conducted the ceremony at his palace.
And he told the England star that Fiwagboola means ‘character maketh wealth’.

Wow. We thought Fiwagboola meant ‘character shaggeth Wag.’ Anyway, Peter Crouch is totally having more fun outside of Euro 2008.
