When The Music’s Over, Turn Out The Lights: Barcelona To Axe Star Trio.

Barcelona’s new coach is wasting no time ruffling the feathers of a team that once reigned as European champions and domestic champions in the same. Pep Guardiola disclosed today that the trio consisting of Samuel Eto’o, Ronaldiho and Deco–a trio that made up one of the most creative striker/midefield combos ever–are getting pink slipped from the Catalan club.

“With the technical secretary we are forming a squad and Deco, Ronaldinho and Eto’o are not in our minds,” said Guardiola, a former Barcelona skipper.
He confirmed that his priority was to buy a striker to partner Thierry Henry.

It’s been no secret to anyone that Samuel Eto’o would rather play somewhere outside the vicinity of Frank Rijkaard’s breath and Ronaldiho needs to visit a psychiatrist, dietitian and and stylist. Deco is a big loss. Not only is he still playing phenomenal soccer, but he’s only going to get better. So what’s Barcelona’s future?
