It was only a matter of time until FMF’s Club America bellowed a groan of envy about Chivas’ MLS experiment, Chivas USA. Looks like they no longer want to be on the sidelines when it comes to tapping into the biggest Mexican market outside of Mexico!.

“For the international project, we are looking to bring competitive games to our fans in the United States and the international expansion of the brand, also in the United States,” Bauer said. “We also look for constant participation of the team in important competitions at the worldwide level, and agreements of collaboration with the world’s best teams.”

Since America, for a lack of a better phrase, sucked balls last year, they reall have nothing to lose from investing in the MLS. Yet, they’ll have to look outside of Los Angeles because that’s Chivas territory. Maybe San Francsico? They’ve got a ton of Latinos over there. And that would make for a pretty classic “El Clasico”, dontcha think? We’re sure we’ll have a few years before this idea turns into reality.
