Say what you want about the owner of your favorite team, at least they haven’t been linked to terrorism lately (well, unless you count Al Davis’ pact with The Devil). That’s why fans of the EPL’s Newcastle team might be a little worried about the possibility of their team being sold to the Bin Laden family for a sum of over $600 million. Now, the family has disavowed the terrorist acts of their most famous member, Osama, but the stain of the name remains. Can you imagine EPL fans going off on this? They crucify Chelsea owner Roman Abromovich, and he just buys players wholesale and bangs supermodels–and that’s his own fanbase. What would Newcastle fans think? Um…

“It’s disgusting, an absolute joke. But it’s up to [Newcastle owner] Mike Ashley,” said Frank Gilmour of the Independent Newcastle United Supporters’ Association. “Will he really be prepared to sell the club to the family of a terrorist?”

“A few weeks back Ashley was wearing the strip and buying drinks for people in bars around the Toon,” said Joseph Currey, 37. “Now it seems he doesn’t care who he sells to as long as the money is right.”

Yeah, but if they’re sold to the Bin Laden family, you can bet the stadium security would be the best in the world. Sure, they might outlaw the booze from being sold, but hey, who needs beer at an EPL match, right?
Right?
