We try to be Cuban thirty times a day. Whether it’s through wearing our favorite Guayabera, listening to “Buena Vista Social Club” on repeat (yes, we know, sooo 2000), or reading Alejandrita over at Guanabee, there’s always an urge to explore our inner Cubanismo. So when we discovered these Ataahua Trilby Hats, we realized our salsa band dreams might actually come true.

Traditional Cuban coffee roasters’ Trilby hat, beautifully handmade in New Zealand from upcycled Hessian coffee sacks. All hats are one-offs made from individual coffee sacks. Patterns vary slightly from hat to hat.

New Zealand? Well, our favorite German sneaker is exported from China so it’s cool. Too bad we don’t have cigar snipping skills to go along with this lovely hat. Seriously, don’t hate. No one has ever taught us and every time we try it looks like a three year old got a hold of our cigar and gnawed on it for a day. Teach us, Cubanos! Teach. Us.
