With news hitting the blogosphere last night that Ronaldinho had signed with AC Milan for roughly 21 million euros, the rumors have been spreading widely as to who Barcelona could and should sign. They’ve already locked five new players down and a sixth is sure to be in their sights. Some of the more well-known names include Carlos Tevez, David Villa and Fernando Torres, but one name peeking it’s furry little head is that of Real Madrid’s prized Brazilian, Robinho. He’s recently asked for a monumental raise and Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon may turn a deaf ear because of the continued Cristiano Ronaldo saga. From Seccion Deportiva:
Robinho has asked for a salary increase from Madrid and it is not sitting well that Cristiano Ronaldo is being discussed. On the other side, Joan Laporta is looking for a crack to regain the confidence of the members of his club, and it is clear that you need a new Brazilian to fill the void Ronaldinho left.
Sure this pure speculation at this point, but you know Barcelona fans are still reeling from the days of their prized son Luis Figo opting for the bright lights of the Santiago Bernabéu instead of maturing in the Nou Camp. This would be a sweet taste of revenge if Laporta could pull it off. Stay tuned.
