The BBC Does The Impossible—It Makes The Olympics Hip

While we like watching the Olympics, sometimes we can’t stand the pomp and circumstance surrounding them. Sure it’s the “World’s Games,” but after the third day of listening to NBC’s gallant horn section before a women’s badminton doubles match, we just want to put the damn thing on mute. Luckily for British Olympic fans, the BBC feels the same way and has eschewed the John Williams scores for something a little more contemporary–like The Gorillaz. After the jump, check out the commercial from the animated supergroup and featuring “Monkey, Pigsy and Sandy encountering danger on their way to the Olympic Stadium.” Ooh just like the Marathoners trying to get to the finish line through the thick Beijing smog!
