Trailer For Max Payne Movie Actually Looks Pretty Good

We’re quick to hate on pretty much everything, but please forgive us for actually thinking the trailer for the upcoming Max Payne movie doesn’t look too bad. No, it probably won’t win an Oscar or anything, but as far as action movies go, sprinkled with a pinch of “man seeking vengeance” story, it’s pretty decent.

For those of you who have no idea what Max Payne it, it was a third-person PC shooter (later ported to the PS2 and Xbox) that introduced bullet time to video games. Now just about every game this side of Pluto overuses bullet time, but back then (2001ish) it was still cool.
The game is also famous for its over-the-top, film noir writing. You’ve never seen a man use so many alarming similes and mixed metaphors.
Now here’s hoping Mark Wahlberg doesn’t screw it up (too badly).
The movie is scheduled to come out in October in the U.S.
