It’s not all fun and games around Machochip today. Sad news from Mexican soccer as Spanish media is circulating reports on the dire state of Club America’s (Mexican League) Carlos Sanchez. The player suffered a debilitating stroke moments before the team was scheduled to practice yesterday and doctor’s are unsure about his prognosis. At just 28 years old, Sanchez suffered a stroke due to the blockage of the cerebral artery, which was caused by a blood clot. Doctors, unsure about how his body will respond if they try and surgically remove the clot, have kept Sanchez in an induced coma.
Coincidentally, it was a year ago this month that Sevilla striker Antonio Puerta died while on the pitch after he suffered a severe heart-attack. He was only 22 years old.
