Dimitar Berbatov–currently of the Tottenham Hotspur Berbatovs–has caused an uproar in North London. Yesterday, while traveling with his Bulgarian national teammates to Bosnia for a match, the increasingly in-demand striker decided to sign a fan’s jersey–a Red Devil’s kit–and even signed his name right next to the team seal. Berbatov, who’s still part of Juande Ramos’ master plan at White Heart Lane, has been part of trade speculation that’s been rumored for quite a while that will send him to his “dream team” of Manchester United for somewhere between £25-30 million, or roughly £1.5 million per win Spurs are going to have without him.
SunSport’s exclusive snaps yesterday of the wantaway Spurs star autographing a Reds shirt sparked outrage among Tottenham supporters. Berbatov signed the shirt for British fan John Russell at Sofia Airport… [and] even put his signature right next to the badge on the United shirt he hopes to be wearing soon.
Spurs boss Juande Ramos tried to play it down saying footballers should sign whatever is put in front of them.
Yeah, we think the next thing that should be put in front of him to sign are the transfer papers to Manchester. If Ramos wants to start a new chapter at Spurs, there’s nothing that’s going to ruin the chemistry like a moody-ass Bulgarian who doesn’t want to play for your sucky-ass, non-Man U team.
