Ronaldinho Is Desperately Seeking A Wife, Proposes To Swedish Soccer Player Johanna Almgren

Swedish soccer player Johanna Almgren was minded her own business at the Olympics when something out of a Star Wars trilogy came bustling towards her, eyes glazed over and panting. It was Brazil’s hefty star Ronaldinho and he had a severe case of the “I want-ies.” Shouldn’t he concentrate on getting his stamina back and, in blatantly Machochipian terms, dissolving the Feijuada fat pouch he’s been carrying around for six months?

‘We rushed to the hotel foyer to collect autographs,’ Almgren told Swedish newspaper Bordas. ‘Ronaldinho ignored all the Chinese and walked straight towards me. He looked me deep in the eyes, took my hand and kissed it. I almost fainted.’

Brazilian soccer men are quite the forward bunch, aren’t they? Ronaldinho, who struggled throughout the Olympics, wasn’t about to let this one go away easily.

‘Somebody said in broken English that he was calling on behalf of Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho wanted me to come up to his room,’ she said.
‘Unfortunately he can’t speak much English. My Spanish and Portuguese are appalling and so the conversation consisted of mostly sign language.’ [Ed note: Tongue wagging and pat-a-cake?]
But Ronaldinho, 28, soon called in help when he had decided what he really wanted to say. ‘An interpreter said that Ronaldinho asked if I would like to marry him. I was shocked and immediately replied no.’

He couldn’t just make the slipping on the ring on the ring finger sign while winking and blowing a kiss? Aside, the audacity of the Brazilian team’s players rivals only one other blood-sucking entity on the face of the earth: the politician. Can’t wait when these guys run for office.
