And We May Have Found The Mets’ Reason For Their Downturn… Well, At Least Jose Reyes’

Meet Bentley Matthews. She is, according to the gossipy, dirt-digging site TheDirty.com (which of course we love), the alternate paramour of Mets’ shortstop Jose Reyes. Alternate because he just so happens to have gotten married in July to someone else. But Matthews is coming to the defense of “her papi” (as TheDirty says she called him) by stating equivocally that she had never been with Reyes… in the biblical sense. Well, maybe someone should because him and the team–who are reenacting last year’s season-ending dovetail like it was Shakespeare in the Park–need a slumpbuster big time.

“I have never had a relationship with Jose Reyes,” busty brunette Bentley Matthews insisted Wednesday after a gossip blog claimed she’s been having a road romance with Reyes.

Posted on TheDirty.com are photos and statements that blogger Nik Richie says he took off the MySpace page of Matthews (that’s her modeling name). Although there are no pics of her and Reyes together, there is one of Reyes in his underwear watching TV and one of “our big bed where all the magic happens,” as Matthews is said to have put it.

Other photos included a topless Matthews with the initials “JR” affixed to her nipples and the model wearing a man’s jeans and shirt, with the caption, “That’s how my papi rolls.”

Wait, Jose Reyes wears “JR” charms on his nipples? How does he stop them from hurting him when he’s stealing all those bases?
