Surely, if MLS clubs rewarded their foreign players with citizenship, then you’d have a ton of Pablitos and Rudolfo’s trying out for all 12 teams every single year. Because in Romania, if you perform well for your club and are a foreigner, chances are you’re going to be rewarded with more than the team ball. Especially when you’ve done wonders to heighten the hopes of your club’s fans.

Romania plans to naturalise Argentine forward Juan Culio after he stunned Roma with two goals that earned unheralded CFR Cluj a 2-1 win in their Champions League group match.
“Culio played brilliantly,” Romanian Soccer Federation head Mircea Sandu told reporters on Wednesday. “I’ve asked (the soccer authorities) to start getting the necessary documents.”

And his new nickname in Romania: “Coolio.” We bet he’ll be neck-deep in Dracula folklore in no time.
