Evan And Eva Longoria—Seperated By An N, But Not By Fame

Should Tony Parker be worrying about now? The Spurs star isn’t the only athlete in his wife, Eva Longoria-Parker’s, radar. Evan Longoria, the former Long Beach State star and current Tampa Bay Rays super-rookie, has started a correspondence with the similarly-named (well, before the marriage, anyway) Desperate Housewives star according to People because their names are pretty much the same. And while that’s cool and all, we wish all athlete-actor-with same name-combos would start hanging out. Oh to be a fly on the wall during a man date between Joe Montana and Joe Mantegna.

The actress recently sent the Tampa Bay Rays player a bottle of champagne–and in return, he gifted her with Rays T-shirts and other goodies. “It’s good to see that he’s doing the name proud,” Eva tells TV Guide. As for Evan, sharing a name with a Desperate Housewife has made him the source of some good-natured on-field ribbing. “My teammates tell me I’m swinging the bat like Eva,” he says.

Wow, that’s amazing, even in this day and age… that someone would actually accept Tampa Bay Rays merchandise and not return it. What, you thought we were going to talk about that sexist remark at the end? Nah… if you’ve ever seen the show, you know that’s nothing.
