- MLB: The LA Angels of A won their fourth AL West division in five years with their win over the Yankees yesterday. The team’s reliever Francisco Rodriguez came within one save of Bobby Thigpen’s saves record of 57 with 17 games to go. Angels 4, Yankees 2 [LA Times]
- World Cup Qualifiers : Canada hasn’t won a soccer match on Mexican soil in 50 years… and that didn’t change last night. Omar Bravo and Rafa Marquez scored the two goals for the Mexican side, who move to 3-0 and a probable advance to the next round. Mexico 2, Canada 1. [National Post]
- World Cup Qualifiers: Italian Daniele De Rossi scored his team’s two goals as the Azzuri took the win over Georgia, who wore black armbands to honor their fallen comrades. Italy now leads their group by two games. Italy 2, Georgia 0 [Fox Sports]
- World Cup Qualifiers :England forward Theo Walcott became the youngest Red Lion to score a hat trick yesterday as the English side dismantled a Croatian team that couldn’t handle his speed.
