You have to assume that Mixed Martial Arts referees have the ability to defend themselves if anything goes awry during, or after, a fight. We doubt Mills Lane could defend himself against Mike Tyson, but we bet he would have been able to take on any of Mike’s cornermen. So when a disgruntled cornerman from a losing MMA fighter’s corner came out raging, the ref did what came natural to him after years of training: he sent the sucker to the ground.
