Phillies Bomb Scare Caused By Wrapped Up Weenies

When three duct-taped objects were found outside of the Phillies ballpark, the bomb squad was called in to take care of the problem (meaning they were going to blow the hell out of the objects and eliminate the problem.) But once they did, they wondered why the hell it smelled like a Fourth Of July barbecue. Little did they know that the Philly Phanatic was having a little fun with a t-shirt launcher and some hot dogs and, oops, someone forgot to gather up the props.
Hours before the Phillies-Atlanta Braves’ game on Wednesday night, a film crew shot a commercial of the mascot shooting heavily wrapped hot dogs from a launcher.
But someone inadvertently left three of the duct taped hot dogs outside the ballpark, sparking security fears. Stadium employees were evacuated and the bomb squad was called in.
Only after the packages were blown up did authorities realize they’d just exploded some sausages.
Hey, if bacon-wrapped hot dogs can cause an explosion in our gut, then maybe these dogs were just as dangerous.
