Nigel Bannister is a 25-year-old linesman in England. We’re almost certain his name has never been in the paper before, or on a blog, but today is his special day. Because Nigel Bannister publicly disclosed his definition of a goal this weekend when Reading took on Watford this weekend in an Premiership clash. Bannister ruled a score for Reading when it appeared that the ball had crossed the line. Unfortunately, the ball crossed the line about five feet wide of the goal. Someone brief the poor chap before they start counting goal post knocks as goals.
