The Most Loyal Displaced NFL Fans Are… Cardinal Fans?

There was a time–before the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995 and Matt Leinart moved to Phoenix to lead the league in pool parties–when the NFL’s Cardinals franchise was based in St. Loo. But they moved to Arizona in 1988, apparently leaving many St. Louisians sad and heartbroken according to DirecTV. Taking account of which teams were popular with fans in cities without an NFL franchise, the Cardinals-St. Louis fan base beat out Falcon fans in South and North Carolina and Baltimore Ravens fans in Pennsylvania. Strangely missing from the list were Angelenos, who had two teams bail on them in ‘95–the Raiders and the Rams–but ratings suggest don’t have an affinity for either of them, or any really. We said it once, and we’ll say it again–the 10 AM starts really mess with their Sunday morning tee times/coke hangovers/colon cleansings.
Notable among the list of top displaced-fan cities were Las Vegas and Orlando, the only cities to house the highest percentage of displaced fans for more than two different teams. Las Vegas led in displaced fans for the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers, while Orlando played home to the highest percentage of New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions fans.
All right, so NFL fans love to move to cities with gambling, close proximity to legalized prostitution and Mickey Mouse. Seems about right.
