Dancing With The Stars Champ And Indy 500-Winner Helio Castroneves Faces Tax Evasion Charges

If Helio Castroneves thought he could smile and wink his way out of paying taxes to the American government like he did with the judges on Dancing With The Stars, he was surely put in the right yesterday. That’s because the Brazilian was incited on tax evasion charges in Miami and faces up to 35 years in jail if convicted. Why so much? Because it wasn’t like he got a $500 1099 tax form and didn’t file it with the IRS. No, the dude got into some Kingpin shit and created offshore shell companies. Whenever you bring those into the equation, you know something bad’s about to go down.

Castroneves, who charmed judges and the audience with his winning moves and sexy smile, is accused of siphoning millions of dollars in income to a Panamanian shell company from 1999 to 2004. The Brazilian-born Castroneves, [3]3, is expected to appear in a Miami court on Friday to face charges of conspiracy and tax evasion.

Yeah, if we were Castroneves our thinking would be to “find” my way onto a speedboat and get our ass to Cuba. He might not be able to get an F1 car down there, but we’re sure there are tons of places he could make money dancing without the stars.
