Leave it to Chilean side Colo Colo’s Lucas Barrio to kick in one of the prettiest Chilenas we’ve seen in quite a while against Santiago Morning (which to us sounds like a terrorist group, like the Weather Underground or Asian Dawn). On a side note, our mother always chided us for calling them bicycle kicks since they were created in Chile. According to Wikipedia…

The account from Chile attributes the invention of the kick to Ramon Unzaga in the southern Chilean city of Talcahuano and as the first person to make the move in an official football match.

Of course, the Brazilians and Germans both claim credit to inventing falling backwads and kicking the ball over your head at the goal. But to us, they’ll always be a Chilean invention like an empanada stuffed with cheese or blind anger against Argentinians.
