When the start of the EPL season rolled around, a lot of people (like us) were wondering if Tottenham were going to be as good as they seemed on-paper with new signings like Giovani Dos Santos and Roman Pavlyuchenko. But two months later, Spurs are at the bottom of the table, and the odds of them being relegated are currently 10-1. Obviously when you spend over $100 million to sign players, those are bad odds if you’re Juande Ramos and want to keep your job. So amid whispers of his firing on every sports page, what does he do? Antagonize his veteran players by banishing them from the main training facility because they are “no longer part of his plans.” Can’t you feel the love?

Ramos’ new regime has led to players who were part of Tottenham teams that twice finished fifth in the Premier League under Martin Jol being barred from the Chigwell training ground dressing room. The players - including Ricardo Rocha, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Paul Stalteri, Adel Taarabt, Ben Alnwick and Hossam Ghaly - have been told they are unlikely to break back into the top squad and that they must train with the reserves until they find a new club.

Ah yes, what better way to move forward with a bunch of new, young players than to have any possible mentors completely out of sight. Even though they may not be part of the plans, they always know the best way to get around groupies and the most secretive doctors who can get rid of the clap. You know, the information a young player truly needs.
