Edna Jester, an 89 year-old woman in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio who told the neighbor kids she was tired of them trespassing in her yard to retrieve their football, was arrested this week when she finally confiscated the thing. Yes, the cops in Ohio are holding the grandmother on petty theft charges that could result in a $1000 fine and six months in jail. Now, we’re sure sports fans will say what an old crab ass, but we have to question whether you can be charged with theft when someone essentially “gave” you their property. Over and over again, even. Seems like a case that should get thrown out in court, but we guess it depends on whether the judge is a football fan. The news video, which shows Ms. Jester is more ornery than John McCain at a presidential debate, is well worth viewing and located just after the jump.
