Oxford Rugby Players Show Their Sensitivity, Tell Party People To Bring Their Curls And Hot Jewish Girls

It’s really great to know that Universities are places of knowledge where ignorance and intolerance can be eradicated. Ah, who are we kidding, if this scene from Oxford University–supposedly one of the more enlightened schools in England–is any indication, we should be more worried about our future than we thought. Rugby players thought it’d be great to throw a party where they told invitees “to arrive dressed as Orthodox Jews carrying bags of money,” along with a hot Jewish girl. But once word got out about what they were doing, the party’s theme was changed to “bring a fit girl.” Their ways as scumbags, however, were stuck with them like white on rice.
Aaron Katchen, Oxford University’s Jewish chaplain, said the original “theme” had gone ahead. He was contacted by four students who had witnessed it.
Some of the partiers from the jam that totally didn’t happen were even seen wearing pretend sidelocks. But even with all the evidence against them, one of the rugby players decided that they’d continue with the bullshit of them holding the other party… and their dignity. And throw in a caveat for good measure.
The captain of the under-21 team, Phil Boon, said he “didn’t see what the problem was”. He said Jewish girls had accepted invites to the party. “I can understand why it might have offended some people, but it would have been an awesome social.” Boon refused to comment further.
Would that be because he was late meeting his skinhead friends at the Doc Martens store or because his foot wouldn’t allow him to speak any further? And the whole “Jews came so it’s okay” excuse got played out and the same time that “but some of my best friends are black” did.
