Talk about bookending your day. We opened up with tales of a young, strong and healthy Cristnano Ronaldo talking smack and wanting to take all comers. Now, we have sad news that the single-named Ronaldo—seen here in his faster days, but now overweight, hurting and taking on transvestites—is seriously considering retiring. The 32-year-old Brazilian striker is coming off multiple knee surgeries, and after playing in a charity match earlier this week where he could only crank out 22 minutes worth of play, the time has come for him to decide his future. His contract with AC Milan is about to run out and nothing’s come up for him. A move to Manchester City might be in the works, but a more realistic route would be the contract offered to him by Serie A middleweights TK, which Ronaldo said “no way” to. He’d rather stay at home and eat cupcakes watching the Italian equivalent of Judge Judy, thank you very much.
“I thank them but I really don’t know what the future holds for me,” Ronaldo told Gazzetta dello Sport… “I don’t know if I will continue playing or retire. I still haven’t taken a decision. There is no rush. I want to complete my recuperation. I could decide tomorrow or in a month. I really don’t know.”
Well, if he does retire, we wish him the best. Remember, there are only so many athletes would could survive being busted with trannies, eating himself out of shape, marrying and divorcing gorgeous women in six months and being called out by your country’s president and still make a career for themselves. One or two sure, but all of them? Ronalo is truly one of the greats.
