When we were watching the UFC 91 match between Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture, we chuckled as Couture tried to lift and pull a behemoth like Lesnar to the ground early in the match. What wasn’t so high-larious was when Lesnar got Couture to the ground and began whaling on his face, resulting in the end of the match. Even UFC head honcho Dana White thought that ref Mario Yamasaki should’ve called it a few seconds sooner to prevent Couture losing a few more inches of properly functioning brain tissue.

UFC President Dana White said as he watched the barrage he thought, “The ref [Mario Yamasaki] was going, ‘Eh, is [Couture] OK?’ Mario was trying to give him time [to recover]. There’s a fine line between that and [allowing] too many punches. When I saw Randy go back down, I thought we had crossed that line.”

Do you think he did? Watch the clip after the jump and let us know if you would’ve stopped the fight earlier or continue, as Couture put it, letting him eat leather.
