Moms—is there anything that they can’t do…. that will embarrass the hell out of us? Take Cristiano Ronaldo’s mom, Dolores Aveiro, seen here praying to Deus that Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t pay for the company of the woman to his right. The very outspoken Dolores has recently told everyone that would listen that she hates English clubs, which presents a problem being that he plays for the most popular one, and she would die a happy woman if her boy would at some point don the bwin logo and play for Real Madrid. It’s the least he could do, considering she saved him from a life of blowing dudes behind the 7-11 equivalent in Lisbon for some crack.

“The teacher wanted me to tell him off,” she said, “but I didn’t punish him. He had to practice a lot to be a great footballer. If Cristiano hadn’t have become a professional footballer, he would have been lost. He would have certainly become a drug addict or something terrible like that.”

You know, it’s awesome that someone could get as much love and support from their parents as he got. It’s very rare that parental figures would peg you in either extreme—epic success or failure.
