Whas happened in sports last night.
- NFL: Watching the Giants game against the Eagles yesterday, you couldn’t help there was something missing. Oh yeah, the man who’s scored more touchdowns against Philadelphia than anyone in the league for the past four years—Plaxico Burress. Eli Manning couldn’t deal with Burress’ departure, especially when supposed fill-in Domenik Hixon lets a gorgeous thirty yard bomb fall straight through his hands. However, even with the loss, New York captured the NFC East crown as the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, handing their division foes the title. - College Football: Florida and Oklahoma are going to be fighting it out for the BCS Championship, assuring very low ratings in Texas and Georgia. [ESPN]
- NFL: This is one of the reasons why we’re happy we don’t live in Minnesota—we didn’t get this dropped in our lap. The other reason? The snow. [NSFW] [Deadspin]
- Soccer: Looks like Toluca will take on Cruz Azul in the Mexican Apertura final. [USA Today]
- EPL: Apparently, Cristiano Ronaldo thinks that a Ballon d’Or lets you leave games whenever the hell you want. [Republik of Mancunia]
- Soccer: Afghanistan’s homeless men won the Homeless World Cup in Melbourne, Australia. They beat the Russians, continuing the thread we witnessed in Charlie Wilson’s War. [NY Times]
