Whas happened in sports last night.

  • Champions League: Although they haven’t been playing like a team that deserved a Champions League birth, Real Madrid came to play last night against Zenit St Petersburg. Raúl and Arjen Robben gave Los Blancos a couple of scores to start it off, but the clear winner of the night was new coach Juande Ramos. Sure, they may not beat Barcelona this weekend, but at least he can calm some of the Spanish media who said he couldn’t manage a poop even after a night out at Taco Bell. Or something like that. • NBA: It’s too early for a Lakers lull, isn’t it? Even though they beat the Suns, it wasn’t pretty. [LA Times]
  • Girls!: Tomorrow’s a very special day—Playboy’s 55th Anniversary edition comes out, and the sexy Dasha Astafieva shows us the way to celebrate. [Cuzoogle]
  • NHL: Colorado’s Joe Sakic gets sidelined… with a snowblower injury? Yikes. [With Leather]
  • NBA: The Mets keep on adding players who were on our fantasy team last year. Yesterday, it was K-Rod. Today, it’s JJ Putz from the Seattle Mariners. [NY Times]
  • La Liga: Spain is going to investigate La Liga for being cheaters, in particular a match that helped Athletic Bilbao avoid relegation in 2007. In our country, they call them uh-ohs. [Javno Sports]
