Whas happened in sports last night.

- NFL: The Raiders may not have been in the playoff hunt, but that doesn’t mean they can’t drag down another team with them. That team was the Tampa Bay Bucs, who had the post-season door shut in the face by Oakland. [Contra-Costa Times]
- NFL: The Lions ended the worst season in NFL history by becoming the first squad to go undefeated in a 16-game season. Yeah, expect coach Rod Marinelli to be fired today. [Freep.com]

- NFL: The 49ers’ season ended on a high note, so the team dropped the “interim” tag from head coach Mike Singletary’s title and signed him to a reportedly five-year extension. [SF Gate]
- NFL: The Patriots’ season ended shittily—the first 11-win team not to make the playoffs since 1985—and it gets rougher now that Tom Brady’s recovery is reported to be way behind. [Sporting News]
