If the coming New Year means anything, it means you’ll be bombarded with a million or so lists of varying quality (we’ll have a few hype ones for ya in a few days, too).
The people at BetOnline.com have got one for us today. Rather than share the best of 2008, they’re throwing down odds on the probability of a number of potential happenings across the worlds of sports and entertainment?
So should you empty your savings account on a hunch that Britney Spears will melt down in 2009? Let’s look at a few of their more interesting prop bets.

Britney Spears had plenty of dark moments in 2008, but will she continue to complete her turnaround in ’09? BetOnline.com predicts she’ll be unstoppable (-150), with steep 8-to-5 odds that she would quit her “Circus” tour early.

Will Illinois governor Blagojevich leave office before the inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama? Most likely (-400); Blagojevich boasts 3-to-1 odds that he would not leave office by Jan. 20.

Will Gmail finally come out of Beta in 2009? Google enthusiasts might finally see the email application to the next level (-300) as Gmail boasts 2-to-1 odds that it would remain in Beta.

Will a No. 16 seed upset a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament? If history dictates, it will not be the case (-1600), as the No. 1 seeds boasts 12-to-1 odds to defeat the No. 16 seeds.

Yeah, that shit never happens. These are all good, but we’d like to see a few more gambling opportunities thrown on the list. Will Brett Favre play the retirement dance once again this season (2-1)? Will Isiah Thomas blame any other family members for future overdoses (5-2)?
And will the A-Rod/Madonna romance continue to remain strong (30-1)? Let’s get these on the board and start throwing some money down.
