OU President Would Like To Hold Off Fixing The Big 12 Until After His Team Plays In The Championship, Please
5 December 2008, 11:30 AM. By Alex Ferreyra

University of Oklahoma President David Boren weighed in with the Associated Press yesterday about the sad news that Texas is not going to the Big 12 Championship even though they beat his team 45-35 earlier this season.
I think it’s always best to look at the system after the emotion of the season has died down, because what might be good for Oklahoma one year might be good for Texas the next year, and vice versa.
Convenient. We like it! BUT, even Oklahoma’s athletic director Joe Castiglione feels the current system is a hacky way to judge sports:
As a competitor, you’re playing to win a game and now you have to play to win people’s opinion.
Which is like, well, just about everything else in the world. Aren’t athletics supposed to be the one arena where politics are left behind?
