Ah, chucking things during sporting events. It’s a time honored tradition that dates back to the Roman times. Then, it was the fans of gladiators, throwing flowers to their favorite fighters. Today, it’s fans in Philadelphia throwing D-Cell batteries at Santa Claus. Somewhere in the middle are fans of Atletico Madrid, who in a fine show of solidarity with their team and probably the gallons of sangria chugged during the tailgate, decided to pelt the Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz with snowballs. Hey, at least he wasn’t laying on the field with a potentially broken neck like Michael Irvin was when Eagles fans decided to rain boos down on him.
Check out the video after the jump.
