Whas happened in sports last night.

  • Australian Open: Under the oppressive heat that did in the former Mr. Leyrn Franco, Novak Djokovic, the day before, Serena Williams was probably finding it hard to move that big caboose. She was was one game away from dropping her quarterfinal match against Svetlana Kuznetsova when she turned on the “finish her” quality all the top athletes have. Especially the ones in the Oreo Double Stuff League. [ESPN]
  • MLB: Jerry Manuel says he’d love to have Manny Ramirez in the clubhouse. Gee, Davy, ya think? [ESPN]
  • NFL: On Super Bowl’s media day, an attention whore’s mecca, the prize for the most eyes on them goes to… a dude in a dress. We’d prefer the chick who proposed to Tom Brady last year. [Sporting News]
  • Skateboarding: Skate or Die might have another meaning in Afghanistan. [NY Times]
  • MLB: Joe Torre’s book diss list grows, and now includes many other Yankees including Kevin Brown… which we’re totally okay with. [NY Post]
