Ugh. Who would’ve ever thought that Chad Johnson, with his ‘Ocho Cinco’ nonsense, would be a possible trailblazer in the NFL. Meet Chris Kluwe, Vikings punter, and soon to be a cult hero for nerds everywhere. That’s because Kluwe is secretly a video game nerd, and we’re not just talking about playing Madden for feria. His addiction is World of Warcraft, which he plays about six hours a day (but it’s okay because he doesn’t watch TV). On his radio show last week, he joked around about it being such an addiction that he would consider changing his name to reflect the obsession.

“Back when [Bengals receiver] Chad Johnson changed his name to Ocho Cinco, I told the guys at 93X that I was going to change my name to Chris ‘World of Warcraft,’ ” Kluwe said. “They said that’s too long. So they started calling me Chris ‘Warcraft.’ I could make a lot of money if I changed my name to that.”

Oh kickers, aren’t they the craziest and most eccentric of the football fraternity? They either have a half a foot like Tom Dempsey or allegedly putting GHB in girls’ drinks like Tony Zendjas or Sebastian Janikowski. We actually support Kluwe’s move to change his name because if you can’t be perceived as a tough guy even as a football player, then you might as well do it through a name change. Come on, admit it, Warcraft would be a pretty badass last name. Not as cool as say StarFox, but still cool enough.
