Who Said A Flying Car Needed To Be Fancy? This Dune Buggy+Parachute Will Do Just Fine

Giles Cardozo is pretty much a madman. A flyer by trade, Cardoza has built machines like a powered paraglider that took Bear Grylls to the top of the Himalayas and now, a flying car he hopes will take him from London to Timbuktu. That’s right, but it’s nothing like we’d think of when “flying car” comes to mind. This is basically a dune buggy with a high-powered propeller and parachute behind it that gives the car lift. But that doesn’t take away from the awesomeness of it, especially when you find out that to test it out Cardozo and his co-pilot will be taking it from London to France, Spain and Morocco, then Western Sahara to Timbuktu, all while driving and piloting the machine that goes 120 MPH on the ground, and 17 MPH in the air. It’s not Back To The Future, but it’s a start.
